Craftsman Student Tool List For Auto Body and Auto Collision Repair Curriculums
It’s getting that time of year. The time when all of the automotive tech school students need to start buying their tool sets for class. Did you know you can equip your new Craftsman toolbox with Craftsman tools? Craftsman hand tools have the best warranty in the industry. Better than Snap-on, Matco, Blue Point and all the others. Auto Body Repair
I have put together a typical tool list for the Auto Body, AUTO COLLISION Repair Programs. The list from your school may include a few more items than what I listed here, but if you get the items on this list you will be 95% there.
One thing I have noticed with tool lists from various schools. Sometimes the list will have specific sets of sockets or specific wrench sets and sizes that don’t match up to any of the Craftsman tool sets. I’m pretty sure this is because another tool company helped develop the list for your school. Talk to your instructor, most of the time these lists are more like guidelines. For example, Craftsman sells a “17 inch pry bar. The tool list states “18 inch pry bar.” As long as you get a quality pry bar “about” 18 inches, the instructor will ok your purchase.
Most tech programs don’t have room at the school for large tool boxes. Check with your instructor to find the right size box. I have included at the end of this list the new Craftsman Contour Boxes. Be the first to own one!
Sears Does Not Make It Easy To Buy All Your Tools!
Sears does not have an easy way to select and order all your tools. I’ve tried to make it as easy as possible here so just follow my directions below.
Get signed up for the Craftsman Club and the Sears Shop Your Way Rewards Programs. The Craftsman Club gives you special deals every month on quality tools and the Sears SYWR gives you points for your purchase that you can use anytime to buy more items at Sears, Kmart or Lands End.
I suggest buying the sale items here and having as many items as possible delivered to your local Sears. Why? This will give you the best prices (online price is usually better than in the store) and it will save the most on shipping costs.
Sears usually has the best sale prices on Sears.com but they also offer a 20% student discount off the REGULAR PRICE of SELECT tools at your full-line Sears store. Check with the store to find these particular items. Most Sears Hometown and Hardware stores will also honor this discount. You must have your student id with you and the discount is off the retail price, not the current sale price.
